A gloriously reinvented building located on magnificent Waiheke Island.
Cheshire Architects and the client came together to reimagine and revamp an old and tired building. Spaces were transformed and became deeply relaxing and warm. Generous amounts of recycled, lightly blonded kauri ceiling battens were used to complete the setting. This was one of the first projects using FireZone™ 92 and Zone worked closely with Cheshire Architects by providing multiple samples to ensure just the right look.
A Group 1S rating was required whilst retaining the ambience created by the recycled kauri. FireZone™ 92 was chosen due to it’s minimal visual impact. Sharp Decorating Solutions was awarded the contract and applied the FireZone™ 92 on site. The ease of on site application ensured the avoidance of any transit damage.
The finished product resulted in sumptuous, luxurious spaces enjoyed, seemingly, unrestrained by the fire code. The sheer beauty of kauri comes through to be admired.
Tantalus Estate has been recognised as a fabulous reinvention that complements everything that Waiheke stands for.
